How do I enrol in PayPal Giving Fund?

PayPal Giving Fund is a registered charity (UK Charity No. 1110538) that partners with organisations such as eBay, Meta, GoFundMe, Deed, Twitch and many more to help charities raise funds and connect with new donors. We receive donations through our partner programs and pass on donations to donors' recommended charities.

Registered charities are eligible to enrol with PayPal Giving Fund. You’ll need to meet PayPal’s requirements and follow the steps below to benefit from all PayPal Giving Fund programs and to get access to donation/donor data (where shared).

Please note, Community Interest Companies aren’t eligible to enrol with PayPal Giving Fund.

Enrolment steps

  1. Creating your PayPal Confirmed Charity account

Create a PayPal Business account to get started. You can create one or upgrade a personal account by clicking here. (Ensure you are creating an account for the market, or country, in which your organisation operates)

  1. Confirm your account belongs to a charity
  • Select Nonprofit organisation as your business type
  • Provide charity name and proof of charity status
  • Provide ID to show that the account holder represents the organisation
  • Link your charity’s bank account information

Once submitted, PayPal will review submitted documents within 2 working days. If approved, charities will receive an email confirming charity status with PayPal. Becoming a confirmed charity with PayPal also allows you to qualify for PayPal’s reduced charity rate.

  1. PayPal Giving Fund enrolment

After you receive an email confirming that your charity status has been approved with PayPal, your charity is reviewed for PayPal Giving Fund enrolment. If eligible, you’ll receive another email in about 2 working days confirming that you’ve been enrolled. Your charity is not required to enrol in PayPal Giving Fund to receive grants. However, by enrolling you will:

  • Receive funds to your PayPal account in a single monthly payment
  • Access to a charity dashboard allows you to efficiently track all donations made to your organisation and view donor details, where shared.
  • Personalise your charity's profile, visible on partner platforms such as PayPal, Meta and GoFundMe.
