Established in 2015, Appy Pie is a do-it-yourself, cloud-based platform allowing customers with no programming skills to create a variety of digital applications and functions. These include mobile apps, websites, chatbots, graphic design, and automation development.
The 100% online business is based in India and has subsidiaries in the U.S. and U.K. Appy Pie wants to democratise technology by empowering small businesses. Seven million businesses worldwide are using the no-code, drag-and-drop system to get solutions up and running in minutes.
 

Challenge

According to their CEO, Abhinav Girdhar, the ultimate goal, which is reflected in their name, is to make app development “as easy as pie.” They wanted their customers’ buying experience to align with the app experience. Ultimately, they were looking for a way to improve their customers’ buying experience. They were also looking for a partner that could help them with cross border transactions and simplification of the payment transaction. Solution

The strategic use of Billing Agreements, used to capture payment information at sign up, created a higher customer adoption rate. The net result was an improved and simplified checkout experience for customers and increased conversion for Appy Pie. “Also, the support that they receive from PayPal is unprecedented,” according to Abhinav Girdhar.
 

Outcome

“PayPal has been a game changer for us and has become our primary payment partner,” Girdhar added. PayPal’s knowledgeable team and delivery of the correct product set, combined with the ease of cross border transactions have strengthened the partnership. Offering scalable and stable technology, PayPal helped Appy Pie convert and maintain customers across all of their channels. PayPal now accounts for 80% of their transactions. Appy Pie’s customers are enjoying seamless checkout experiences while Appy Pie enjoys better tracking and control.
