The Friends of MSC PA’s Annual Fund Drive, Powered by Parents, supports critical resources and programs that make MSC one of the most unique, high-performing public K-8 schools in the city. Powered By Parents is our biggest fundraiser; funding 55% of our programs.
Why Are We Fundraising?
- The DOE does not cover 100% of MSC’s Operating budget. We, the parent community, can fill in the gaps to ensure our children’s access to meaningful, enriching education.
- While fundraising events happen throughout the year, direct Family Giving is FOMSC’s primary fundraising source.
What Does My Donation Cover?
FOMSC covers a variety of in-school and out-of-school learning opportunities. Highlights include Greenhouse, Arts Programming (NYC Ballet Tales, Carnagie Hall, New Victory Theater, etc.), Field Trips, In School Programming, School Supplies and MORE!
How Much Should I Donate?
Each family should independently decide on a meaningful contribution.
We are targeting $500 per student based on the the direct level of support we provide to each student as detailed on our website. We understand that families are able to donate at different levels. We ask families who find themselves in a position to be more generous to think about donating to support other students. All donations are kept confidential.
Suggested per child giving levels are:
o $250 – makes a meaningful dent in school-year costs for your child!
o $500 – covers costs for your child for the 2023-24 school year!
o $1000 – covers school-year costs for your child and a friend!
o $1500 – covers school-year costs for your child and two friends!
