Help the Farmers of Wadi Fukin Protect Their Crops

The farmers of Wadi Fuqin, a small Palestinian village near Bethlehem in the West Bank, need our help to protect their crops and their livelihoods. The Neighbors Group, a small group of concerned residents from the neighboring Israeli town of Tsur Hadassa have organized in cooperation with EcoPeace Middle East this fundraiser to offer needed assistance.
These farmers, whose livelihoods depend heavily on their crops, are facing severe challenges that threaten their ability to sustain themselves and their families. The hardships of Palestinians in the West Bank are an overlooked issue during the ongoing war.
One urgent issue that we can all help on is the destruction of their crops by wild boars, which cause extensive damage. Already struggling under difficult circumstances, they are left to confront this issue on their own.
To address this, we are raising funds to help the farmers of Wadi Fuqin build protective fences around their fields. These fences will serve as a vital defense against wild boars, safeguarding their crops and ensuring they can provide for their families. The farmers plan to build a 2,000-meter-long fence. The cost of the material for each meter of fencing is $5. The manual labor will be carried out by the farmers themselves, so no additional labor costs will be incurred. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to purchase materials and provide the resources needed to construct these fences. Together, we can help protect their farms and offer hope in the face of adversity.
