Introduction
PayPal Giving Fund Canada is a registered charity (Registration No.: 812867752RR0001) under the Income Tax Act (the “ITA”), with registered office at 661 University Avenue Suite 506, Toronto, ON M5G 1M1 (“PayPal Giving Fund,” “we” or “our”). PayPal Giving Fund owns or operates websites, applications, services and tools (the “Services”) which assist PayPal users, and users of certain other websites or services with whom we partner, in donating to charity organizations that have completed the PayPal Confirmed Charity registration process on the PayPal Canada website (“Participating Charities”).
This Privacy Policy describes your privacy rights regarding our collection, use, storage, sharing and protection of your personal information. It applies to the PayPal Giving Fund Services regardless of how you access or use them.
For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the term “personal information” shall mean any personally-identifiable information related to donors (“you”, “your”) according to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) on the protection of individuals with regard to the use and processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. This Privacy Policy is not applicable to the Participating Charities.

PayPal Giving Fund, as a data controller, has adopted and implemented this Privacy Policy as part of our commitment to protecting your personal information from misuse. You accept this Privacy Policy when you sign up for, access, or use our Services.
In order to make donations via the Services, it is obligatory for donors to agree to this Privacy Policy. By accepting and consenting to this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information and direct us to do so in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

Notification of changes
We may amend this Privacy Policy at any time by posting a revised version on our website located at http://www.paypalgivingfund.ca. The revised version will be effective at the time we post it and in no event later than 30 days from the date of posting. Your continued use of the PayPal Giving Fund Services following posting of amendments will be considered express consent to all amendments to this Privacy Policy. As of the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy, you will be considered as having consented to all changes to the Privacy Policy. If you disagree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the PayPal Giving Fund Services.
What personal information do we collect?
In order to enable donors to access and use the PayPal Giving Fund Services, in particular to assist in making donations to Participating Charities, PayPal Giving Fund collects certain personal information. This information is collected directly from donors, via third parties and/or from other persons when they use the Services.
Personal information you provide to us: We may collect and store any information you provide to us when you access or use the PayPal Giving Fund Services, including when collecting donations to benefit Participating Charities, or as otherwise required to access or use the PayPal Giving Fund Services. This involves, but is not limited to your name, postal address, email, phone number and your history of donations. In addition, PayPal Giving Fund collects certain information that cannot be used to personally identify any user, such as anonymous, aggregate or statistical data.
We also collect and maintain records of other personal information that you voluntarily provide to us. For example, you may decide to participate in a survey of Participating Charities and you may be asked to provide personal information, such as your age, gender or other demographic data. Provision of such information will be completely voluntary and unless such information is necessary for operating the Services or otherwise required (for example by the Terms and Conditions), we will not require you to provide such information to us. By providing such information voluntarily, you give PayPal Giving Fund permission to use such information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Personal information from other sources: PayPal Giving Fund may also receive information about you from other sources, including but not limited to your eBay Seller ID if you make donations using your eBay account. We also collect your PayPal transaction details to be able to assist in making donations to Participating Charities and to maintain records of all individual transactions conducted through the PayPal Giving Fund Services. Those records are associated with each Participating Charity’s individual account profile within the PayPal Giving Fund system. Please note that your eBay and PayPal passwords will never be shared with PayPal Giving Fund. We may also collect the Internet address (IP address) and other identifying information about the computer or device you use to access or use the PayPal Giving Fund Services, in order to help detect possible instances of unauthorized donations or transactions.
The PayPal Giving Fund Services are not directed at individuals under the age of 13 (“Child” or “Children”) and Children are not eligible to use the PayPal Giving Fund Services. Protecting the privacy of Children is very important to us. We do not collect or maintain personal information from users we actually know are Children, and no part of the PayPal Giving Fund Services are designed to attract Children. If we later learn that a user is a Child, we will take steps to remove that user’s personal information from our databases and to prevent the user from utilizing the PayPal Giving Fund Services.
Use and disclosure of collected information
PayPal Giving Fund uses information collected from the PayPal Giving Fund Services in several ways, as outlined in this Privacy Policy. In particular, PayPal Giving Fund uses information that we collect from you in order to assist in collecting donations to benefit Participating Charities as described in the PayPal Giving Fund User Agreement.

We retain personal information to fulfill our legal or regulatory obligations and for our business purposes. We may retain personal information for longer periods than required by law if it is in our legitimate business interests and not prohibited by law. If your PayPal account is closed, we may take steps to mask personal information, but we reserve our ability to retain and access the data for so long as required to comply with applicable laws. We will continue to use and disclose such personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information security
PayPal Giving Fund is committed to handling your personal information with high standards of information security. We maintain technical, physical, and administrative security measures designed to provide reasonable protection for your personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, and alteration. Access to personal information is physically limited within PayPal Giving Fund’s offices, so that only certain PayPal Giving Fund employees are granted access to such information as appropriate to perform specific jobs and tasks (e.g., performing customer service). Some information is also stored in an encrypted form within PayPal Giving Fund’s own facilities. We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.
While we are dedicated to securing our systems and Services, you are responsible for securing and maintaining the privacy of your password(s) and account/profile registration information and verifying that the Personal Data we maintain about you is accurate and current. You may not share your PayPal Giving Fund password with anyone. PayPal Giving Fund representatives will never ask you for your password, so any email or other communication requesting your password should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and forwarded to spoof@PayPal.com.
PayPal Giving Fund bears no liability for access to, or use or disclosure of, Personal Information, if such access, use or disclosure arises in connection with the theft or disclosure (whether intentional or otherwise) of such password. We are also not responsible for protecting any personal information that we share with a third-party based on an account connection that you have authorized.
